Scotland cricket team's celebration caused interruptions during Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah's press conference. Scotland defeated Bangladesh by 6 runs in their first match of Round 1 in the T20 World Cup 2021 on Sunday (October 17).
Bangladesh could only manage 134/7 in their allotted 20 overs while chasing 141 runs after they failed to build a partnership to take them over the line. Their best partnership came between Shakib Al Hasan (20) and Mushfiqur Rahim (38) of 47 runs for the third wicket.
Other than them, only Mahmudullah added 23 runs, and Afif Hossain revived their hopes with 12-ball 18 while other batters struggled in the run chase.
After the match, Mahmudullah had to take a pause in his interaction with the media due to Scotland's loud celebration. The official Twitter account of Scotland cricket posted the video and cheekily apologized.
"Sorry we will keep it down next time," read the tweet. The Bangladesh captain had to wait for the celebration to tone down a bit so he could continue speaking after a disappointing outing.
Scotland were at 51 for 6 at one stage when Chris Greaves played an impressive knock of 28-ball 45, hitting 2 sixes and 4 boundaries. He also picked up 2 wickets and got picked as the Player-of-the-Match.
