T20 World Cup 2021: ICC announces match officials for the event; Srinath, Dharmasena lead the list

ICC announced 16 top umpires and four experienced match referees for the tournament.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has on Thursday (October 7) announced the match officials for round-one matches and the Super 12s round of the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 to be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman from October 17.

ICC will announce the match officials for the semi-finals and final of the T20 World Cup to be played from October 17 to November 14 in due course.

The ICC has selected the best match officials from around the world to oversee the matches in Oman and UAE in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. A 20-member strong team comprises 16 top umpires and four experienced match referees finalized for the 45-match global event.

The three umpires Aleem Dar, Marais Erasmus, and Rod Tucker will be officiating in their sixth ICC Men's T20 World Cups. There will be neutral umpires for all matches in the T20 World Cup 2021, which will be played in Muscat (Oman), Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Dubai (UAE).

ICC Senior Manager Umpires and Referees Adrian Griffith stated on Thursday: “We are delighted to be able to call on some of the world's top officials for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup with a group of 16 umpires and four-match referees.”

Griffith concluded, “Our aim is always to appoint the best possible officials, and we have also been able to appoint neutral umpires and referees in all matches. We wish them all the very best, and we are confident they will ensure the smooth conduct of matches.”

Match Referees: David Boon, Jeff Crowe, Ranjan Madugalle, Javagal Srinath.

Umpires: Chris Brown, Aleem Dar, Kumar Dharmasena, Marais Erasmus, Chris Gaffaney, Michael Gough, Adrian Holdstock, Richard Illingworth, Richard Kettleborough, Nitin Menon, Ahsan Raza, Paul Reiffel, Langton Rusere, Rod Tucker, Joel Wilson, Paul Wilson.
