Pakistan's Prime Minister and former World Cup-winning captain Imran Khan wants Babar Azam and his men to perform like 'cornered tiger' in the upcoming T20 World Cup in UAE and Oman.

Pakistan cricket recently suffered a setback after New Zealand and England pulled out of the tour, citing security concerns and players' welfare respectively.

According to a report filed by Pakistan Cricket, Imran also hoped that they will host international cricket matches soon.

"Pakistan is a safe country. You should focus on improving your performances... God willing, Pakistan will host international cricket soon," Imran was quoted as saying.

"You must lead the team from the front, take everyone along and play like cornered tigers," he further said.

Pakistan cricket team will kick-off their 2021 T20 World Cup campaign by facing India on October 24. They haven't won against the arch-rivals in the ICC World Cup matches till now.

Earlier, Ramiz Raja, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, had said the team will now be targetting England and New Zealand along with their arch-rivals, India in the T20 World Cup.

“We had one team in our target, our neighbors (India), now add two more teams, New Zealand and England,” Raja said.

New Zealand had abandoned its tour to Pakistan last week moments before the toss for the first ODI at Rawalpindi.
