Two-time winners and defending champions West Indies have named their squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2021 in UAE and Oman. Cricket West Indies announced a 15-member squad and named four reserve players who will also travel with the team.

Ravi Rampaul earns a recall for the first time since 2015 after his wicket-taking spree in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2021), while hero of the final of the 2016 edition in India, Carlos Brathwaite failed to find a spot in the team which will be captained by Kieron Pollard. Sunil Narine also misses out. Veterans Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo are part of the squad, as former captain Jason Holder finds himself in the standby players list.

“Ravi will boost the team's wicket-taking options in the power-play and the middle phase and will provide another option for the death overs,” Roger Harper, lead selector for Cricket West Indies said.

All-rounder Roston Chase is another notable inclusion, earning a T20I call-up for the first time, thanks largely to his form in the Caribbean Premier League.

“Roston Chase has shown that he is a very capable T20 player,” Harper said. He has shown the ability to knit the innings together while still scoring at a fast rate with a low dot-ball percentage. He will be an excellent foil for the explosive players in the team.”

West Indies will be joined in the Group 1 of Super 12 round by England, South Africa, Australia, and two qualifiers from Round 1.

Squad: Kieron Pollard (Captain), Nicholas Pooran (Vice Captain), Fabian Allen, Dwayne Bravo, Roston Chase, Andre Fletcher, Chris Gayle, Shimron Hetmyer, Evin Lewis, Obed McCoy, Lendl Simmons, Ravi Rampaul, Andre Russell, Oshane Thomas, Hayden Walsh jr

Reserves: Darren Bravo, Sheldon Cottrell, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein
