As the teams gear up for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, England captain Eoin Morgan has singled out “consistency” as the biggest strength of his team and said they are really looking forward to playing in the global event later this year in the UAE and Oman.

With the T20 World Cup 2021 scheduled to be held from October 17 to November 14 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman, England will open their campaign against the defending champions West Indies at the Abu Dhabi Stadium on October 23.

The 2019 World Cup-winning captain has stressed to continue to play in the manner they have been playing in the last two years in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021.

Morgan told ICC, “I think our biggest strength is the consistency which we've performed at over the last two years. I think in T20 cricket because the game can change quite quickly and there's a huge group of talented teams within our group, I think every game is important to us.”

He added, “I think we're gathering momentum nicely, and I think the important side to that from our perspective is that we're continuously trying to get better and learn as we go on, simply because the tournament is held away from home. We're really looking forward to it.”

The England skipper also wants to win the T20 World Cup trophy later this year. They haven’t won the title since 2010 in Barbados, though, reached the final in 2016 against the West Indies.

Morgan signed off by saying, “The evolution of T20 cricket and the role it's played in our great game is hugely significant for the development of the game and the popularity of the game. It's huge. It's been a long time coming. We haven't had one since 2016.”
