Veteran Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez was elated to be back in England for the upcoming three-match T20I series starting on Friday (July 16) at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham. He also said the T20I series will be a treat to watch for the fans.

The all-rounder believes that the T20I series against England is crucial for Pakistan as it will not only help the tourists understand where they are placed as a team for the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021, but also a good performance will boost their confidence going into the showpiece ICC event.

Hafeez has some fond memories of playing in England, as he was the highest individual scorer for Pakistan in his and team’s first T20I against England back in 2006, as well as, was instrumental in Pakistan's ICC Champions Trophy triumph in 2017 victory against India in London.

Speaking to pcb.com.pk, Hafeez said: “I am happy to be back in England again as I have great memories of playing in this country. The T20I series against England will be a treat to watch for the fans and a good display of skills and talent is expected from both sides.”

He added, “The series is crucial for us as it will help us understand where we are placed as a team for this year's ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Good performance against a top-ranked side will give players and team management great confidence going into the mega event.”

The all-rounder also said it is his duty to transfer his learnings to the young cricketers as he wants to leave a legacy before calling time on his career.

He signed off by saying, “As a senior player, I feel it is my duty to transfer my experience and knowledge to young players in the team which I have gained over the years. I want to leave a legacy, so when these young players become senior, they too will help the new ones of that time as I helped them.”
