Chris Gayle's success, experience 'extremely valuable' in preparations of T20 World Cup 2021: CWI President

Chris Gayle became the first ever batsman to reach 14,000 T20 runs.

Chris Gayle | GettyCricket West Indies (CWI) President, Ricky Skerrit termed Chris Gayle as the greatest T20 cricketer of all time and feels that Gayle’s success and experience are ‘extremely valuable’ for rebuilding West Indies Cricket.

This comes in the wake of a decline in performances across formats In recent times.

"Chris Gayle is the best T20 cricketer of all time… his success and experience are extremely valuable to the rebuilding of West Indies cricket and especially in the preparation for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup," said Ricky Skerritt.

West Indies is currently facing Australia at home and has taken an unassailable lead of 3-0 in the five-match T20I series. Veterans including Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, and Andre Russell have made a comeback to the West Indies T20I squad ahead of their T20 World Cup title defense in UAE.

Chris Gayle smashed seven sixes and four fours in his match-winning innings of 68 runs in the third match and became the first-ever batsman to reach 14,000 T20 runs.

West Indies will face Australia in the fourth T20I on 14 July (15 July IST).
