T20WC 2020: All ICC members want T20 World Cup to go as per schedule, as per reports

The recent Coronavirus outbreak has affected all the sporting activities across the globe. As far as cricket is concerned, all the bilateral series, as well as the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), has been postponed.

But there has been no change in the Men's T20 World Cup to be played in Australia as no ICC member has asked for a change in the schedule. Nothing has changed since the board meeting release and no member is asking for a date change as of now,” an ICC source told ANI.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) Board conducted a meeting on March 27 via teleconference to discuss the impact of this pandemic on cricket across the globe.

In response to the ongoing coronavirus crisis, the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 Local Organizing Committee is monitoring the situation closely with relevant authorities, and will continue to do so,” ICC said in a statement.

The Tokyo Olympics of 2020, one of the biggest sporting activities, has also been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic which resulted in the postponement of the tournament.

The ICC Men's T20 World Cup is scheduled to take place from 18 October - 15 November 2020 in seven venues across Australia. We are planning for the event to go ahead as scheduled,” the statement by ICC added.
