Team India have achieved remarkable success in recent ICC white-ball tournaments, winning 30 of their last 32 completed matches. This incredible run highlights their status as a leading force in world cricket.
The Men in Blue have also made 4 consecutive global tournament finals, winning three and losing one. The triumphs include two T20 World Cup titles and a Champions Trophy.
Days after their T20 World Cup 2026 win, former Pakistan cricketer Rashid Latif heaped praise on India’s unprecedented dominance. He also laid out the difference in India's winning DNA against Pakistan's losing DNA.
“Even after losing the toss, they made 250 runs. Nobody will be able to catch them. They have not done this overnight; it is the result of their hard work over the last 10 years or so. See the last ICC events or the Asia Cup," Rashid told reporters.
“India’s DNA is to win trophies, and our DNA is to lose even before the knockouts. Their DNA is playing the final and winning," he added.
Rashid Latif also reacted to the reports of PCB slapping a fine of PKR 50 lakh each on Pakistani players for their dismal show in the T20 World Cup. The Salman Ali Agha-led side failed to go beyond the Super 8 phase of the tournament.
“Weaker boards do this. When you sign a contract, it has everything. Fines and rewards are also mentioned,” Rashid remarked.
India's T20 World Cup 2026 campaign was nearly flawless as they lost only one match en route to defend their title. They defeated USA, Namibia, Pakistan and Netherlands in the group stage, before losing to South Africa in the Super 8s.
However, the Suryakumar Yadav-led side bounced back brilliantly and outclassed Zimbabwe and West Indies to qualify for the semifinal, where they edged past England in a high-scoring thriller. In the final, India thrashed New Zealand by 96 runs to lift the coveted trophy.
