India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan continued his prolific run of form as he demolished the Pakistan bowling unit in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group A clash at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo on Sunday (February 15).

Opening the innings, the southpaw launched a brutal assault on the opposition bowlers even though India lost Abhishek Sharma for a duck in the very first over.

The Colombo pitch was stopping a bit, but Kishan’s brilliance neutralized the Pakistani spinners. He was batting on 42 off 25 balls after the end of powerplay, where India scored 52/1.

Ishan smashed Abrar Ahmed for three successive boundaries in the seventh over to reach his half-century in just 27 balls. The left-hander continued his carnage in the next over against Shadab Khan, hitting the leg-spinner for 17 runs.

Kishan eventually perished in the ninth over after scoring 77 off 40 balls, including 10 fours and 3 sixes. He was dismissed by Saim Ayub.

Cricket fraternity showered rich praise on Ishan Kishan for taking the Pakistani attack to the cleaners on a tacky wicket.
