The Indian men's cricket team is receiving a ton of support from the Indian women's team as they prepare for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
Members of the Indian women's team, who created history in 2025 by winning the ICC Women's ODI World Cup, have given the men's squad passionate notes wishing them luck as they try to win the championship again.
The Indian team will enter the T20 World Cup 2026 as the defending champions and will look to create history by becoming the first team to defend their T20 world title. If India wins the T20 World Cup 2026, they’ll also become the first team to win the tournament thrice and the first hosts to do so.
Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian women’s captain, led the charge by sending a powerful message of support.
“Wishing Team India all the best for the T20 World Cup. Play with all of your heart, enjoy, and we all know you are going to win this. Wishing all the luck,” she said in a video shared by BCCI.
Smriti Mandhana, one of the brightest lights in women's cricket and the vice-captain of her team, also expressed her best wishes.
“Wishing the best for the Indian Team, looking really good; we are all looking forward to another cup. But no pressure, and hopefully we can play some good cricket,” she stated.
Deepti Sharma, who was the Player of the Tournament in India’s Women’s World Cup win, conveyed enthusiasm for the forthcoming ICC event in India, giving her message a hint of sentimental depth.
“Wishing all the very best, this is going to happen in India, and it will be very special. Go get the cup home,” the all-rounder said.
Richa Ghosh, the exciting India keeper-batter, also sent her best wishes to the men’s team, recognizing the significance of the World Cup for both teams.
“Wishing you all the very best for the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026; good luck, guys,” she said.
