Sanju Samson, the Kerala batter, has reacted for the first time after been selected in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) named a 15-man squad for the tournament, scheduled to be held in the West Indies and the United States of America (USA) in June.
He, along with Rishabh Pant, pipped competition from Ishan Kishan, Jitesh Sharma, and KL Rahul to be chosen as the two keepers in the Men in Blue squad.

The Men in Blue have been drawn alongside Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, and co-hosts USA in Group A of the 2024 T20 World Cup. The members not partaking in the IPL 2024 playoffs will be the first batch to leave for the tournament, while the rest of the contingent will follow after the culmination of the IPL on May 26.
This is the first time Samson has been picked in the Indian team for an ICC event. Despite Jitesh Sharma doing well last year in the T20Is, a wonderful outing in the IPL 2024 has helped Sanju Samson claim a spot in the Indian squad.
He has scored 385 runs in nine innings at a strike rate of 161, and an unbeaten 71 off 33 in his most recent knock against the Lucknow Super Giants.
Sanju Samson shared a photo of himself in black and white with a caption in Malayalam, which translated to English meant “Sweat shirt.”
