MS Dhoni is spending time away from cricket before flying to South Africa for the limited-overs series. The former India cricketer met Indian Super League (Football tournament) team Chennaiyin FC, in which he is a stakeholder.
Dhoni, who himself is a football enthusiast is the co-owner of the team, along with Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan and industrialist Vita Dani.
Apart from him, Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli also have a football team in the ISL. After buying the team, Dhoni has said, “I was first a goal keeper for a football team before shifting to cricket. This is an opportunity for me to get associated with football."
Dhoni had added, “I am sure all the players of Chennaiyin FC will see how much love Chennai gives to their players. The Hero Indian Super League is a fantastic platform for football to grow with so many big names, IMG-Reliance and Star India associated with it. I look forward to an exciting season ahead but at the same time it’s important that we develop the grassroots level and produce more football stars in India.”
Picture of MS Dhoni with the players is circulating on social media. A fan club of Dhoni shared few clicks of Dhoni with the footballers on Instagram.
