India batter Rinku Singh has now changed his target from Virat Kohli to new T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav for his requests for bats. The Indian team is currently in Sri Lanka for a series of 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs beginning on July 27.

This will be the first time Suryakumar Yadav will captain India in a full-time capacity after being appointed as skipper by the BCCI selection committee, pipping Hardik Pandya for the role. This will also be new India head coach Gautam Gambhir’s first outing in an official capacity.

Suryakumar Yadav will be leading the young team as India is going through the transition, after Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja retired from T20Is after India’s T20 World Cup 2024 win. Also, Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for this series.

Rinku Singh has managed to keep his place after some fireworks against Zimbabwe recently and has started his mission of getting a bat from Suryakumar Yadav. Ahead of the first game against Sri Lanka, the batter was seen having a fun moment with skipper Suryakumar Yadav. The duo posed for the picture at the Sri Lanka airport.      

Suryakumar Yadav posted the photo on his Instagram with the caption reading: "God's plan", which is a line mostly used by Rinku Singh. At the bottom, he wrote: "Theek hai bat le lena". 

Hilariously, Rinku Singh reposted the photo by Suryakumar Yadav and wrote: "De do bhaiya bat".
