India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal pulled off a sensational diving catch at third slip to dismiss Sri Lankan opener Lahiru Udara for just 1 run on Day 2 of the second Test at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) Ground in Colombo.

The early breakthrough came on the second ball of the second over in Sri Lanka’s first innings. Pacer Prasidh Krishna bowled a back-of-a-length delivery around the off-stump that straightened right off the deck, squaring up Udara.

The right-handed batter could only manage a thick outside edge that flew rapidly to Jaiswal's right. Showing incredible reflexes, the southpaw dived full-stretch to his right to pluck the ball out of thin air, triggering ecstatic celebrations within the visiting camp.

Earlier in the day, India declared their first innings at a formidable score of 503/9. The innings was anchored by a spectacular unbeaten 115 from Dhruv Jurel alongside a combative 63 from Rishabh Pant. They built on the platform set by Devdutt Padikkal (117) on the opening day.

Following India's declaration, the late evening bowling burst completely rocked the hosts. Immediately after Jaiswal's brilliant catch sent Udara packing, spinner Manav Suthar trapped nightwatchman Prabath LBW for 2 in the very next over.

Sri Lanka finished the rain-curtailed Day 2 at a precarious 8/2 after just 3 overs, trailing India by a massive 495 runs.
