Fast bowling all-rounder Thisara Perera has been named Sri Lanka's official captain for the one-off T20I against the visiting England side, replacing previous leader Angelo Mathews, who continues to remain sacked as a player and captain for the limited overs game after poor showing during island nation's disastrous campaign in the 2018 Asia Cup.

Also in the squad announced on Monday, October 22, veteran Lasith Malinga, who last played a game in the shortest format more than a year ago, has been drafted back owing to good performances in the just concluded five-match ODI series.

Quite interestingly,  ambidextrous spinner, Kamindu Mendis has also been selected in the 15-member squad, after a good all-round showing in the lone warm-up game against the same opposition.

While rest of the squad has a similar look about it from the past, with Dinesh Chandimal, Niroshan Dickwella and Kusal Mendis playing key roles, left-hand opener Kusal Perera, who missed the three ODIs against England due to a quad strain, has also been called up.

Full Squad: Thisara Perera (C), Dinesh Chandimal, Niroshan Dickwella, Kusal Janith Perera, Kusal Mendis, Dhananjaya De Silva, Dasun Shanaka, Kamindu Mendis, Isuru Udana, Lasith Malinga, Dusmantha Chameera, Akila Dhananjaya, Kasun Rajitha, Nuwan Pradeep, Lakshan Sadakan.
