Apart from the South African team, a young lady was at the receiving end of India opener Sanju Samson’s carnage in the fourth and final T20I in Johannesburg on Friday (November 15).
Samson took the Proteas bowling attack to the cleaners with a whirlwind knock of 109* in just 56 deliveries. He smashed six boundaries and nine sixes during his unbeaten innings.
One of Samson’s sixes also hit a spectator at the Wanderers Stadium. The incident took place in the second ball of the 10th over of India's innings when Tristian Stubbs tossed one up and Sanju deposited it over deep mid-wicket.
It was a flat six but unfortunately, the ball bounced and hit flush on the face of a young girl who was standing a few metres away from the ropes.
The impact of the blow was so severe that the cameras caught her in tears even as a fellow spectator was holding an ice pack on her cheek.
After realising that someone was hurt in the stands, Sanju Samson raised his hand up immediately to extend his apology to the lady.

Besides Samson, Tilak Varma put on a show with the bat as well. The southpaw slammed a 41-ball ton and returned with 120* off 47 balls to propel India to a mammoth 283/1 in 20 overs.
In reply, South Africa’s innings folded for 148 in 18.2 overs. It was a listless batting display as no one managed to touch the 50-run mark.
Arshdeep Singh starred with the ball for India, claiming three wickets by conceding 20 runs in his three overs. Axar Patel and Varun Chakaravarthy picked up two scalps each while Hardik Pandya, Ravi Bishnoi and Ramandeep Singh returned with wicket apiece.
