SA v IND 2023-24: WATCH- Mark Waugh, Michael Vaughan react to Ravi Shastri’s epic “dump” remark on India’s collapse

Shastri made the remark on air after India went from 153/4 to 153 all out in Cape Town Test.

India went from 153/4 to 153 all-out | GettyFormer cricketers Mark Waugh and Michael Vaughan laughed their hearts out after they were shown the clip of Ravi Shastri’s epic ‘dump’ remark after India lost their last six wickets for zero runs in the 1st innings of the recent Cape Town Test against South Africa.

India had managed to bowl out the hosts for 55 runs after being asked to bowl first after losing the toss. Then Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Virat Kohli took India to a good position at 153/4. But then the visitors lost their last 6 wickets for 0 runs in just 11 balls.

South Africa then made 176 in their second innings to give India a target of 79 runs. India managed to overhaul the target with 7 wickets in hand. This win made India the first Asian team to register a Test win in Cape Town.

Meanwhile, after India had been bowled out for 153, Ravi Shastri made an epic remark for the viewers on air. He said: 'If someone went around the corner for a dump and has come back, India have been bowled out for 153.'

This remark has sparked a flood of memes on social media. Shastri was recently part of the Fox Sports commentary panel in Australia for the first Test against Pakistan. Hence, when Mark Waugh and Michael Vaughan were shown Shastri's viral video, they couldn't keep themselves from laughing as well.

Former Australia batter Waugh had a concern about Shastri's dump remark, whereas Vaughan's reaction takes the cake. The host presenter gave the whole incident a nice build-up before revealing Shastri's comments.

"What do you need when these big moments happen in cricket? We've got the great Ian Smith, who just knows what to say… the barest of margins when the big moments come. So, India had lost 6 for 0, and our man Ravi Shastri, Fox Cricket's finest, was in commentary. And this is how he summarized the six for none"- the host said before playing the clip.

Waugh was the first to react. "Does a dump mean the same in India as it does in England?". "I think it does," replied the presenter.

However, former England captain Michael Vaughan took the cake when he said: "I want my dumps to last a bit longer than that, to be honest.” This led to all three people laughing their hearts out.
