This comes after India was routed by an innings and 32 runs in the first Test by South Africa in Centurion.

Avesh Khan has replaced the injured Mohammad Shami and is already in South Africa. He is playing for India A side after playing the three ODIs earlier this month. He is involved in the second 4-day game in Benoni and has taken a five-fer.

Before that, Avesh had played 38 first-class games for 149 wickets, averaging 22.65, with seven five-wicket hauls. He was also the leading wicket-taker for Madhya Pradesh in the last Ranji Trophy season with 38 scalps from eight games.
