India opener Ruturaj Gaikwad got a rude surprise when the bus driver closed the doors of the bus just as the cricketer was about to board the bus. The incident happened as Team India was leaving the Johannesburg stadium after winning the first ODI on Sunday.
Gaikwad was dismissed cheaply for 5 off 10 balls in the 4th over as India were chasing 117 to win. He struck a boundary but fell LBW to Wiaan Mulder, marking his third single-digit in five ODI innings.
However, chasing just 117 to win, Sai Sudharsan’s 55* and a fifty by Shreyas Iyer was enough for India to finish the chase in 17th over and go 1-0 up in the three-match series. Earlier, a maiden ODI fifer by Arshdeep Singh and four wickets by Avesh Khan had shot South Africa out for 116 runs inside 30 overs.

Coming to the incident, Gaikwad was immersed in his phone as he approached the bus, but just as he was about to embark, the door closed, leaving him perplexed.
