Cricket commentator Mark Nicholas has made an embarrassing mistake live on-air. The gaffe occurred during the opening day of the third test between South Africa and Pakistan at Johannesburg.

While cameras were filming a group of little people playing cricket, Nicholas mistook them for toddlers.

"Okay well, it's important to start young," Nicholas said while commentating.

"Look at this…spin it. Oh, I like that! I like it," he added.

After Nicholas' remarks, his co-commentator Kevin Pietersen burst into laughter as he seemed to pick up on his colleague's blunder.

Nicholas' on-air gaffe also became the talk of the town on social media. A number of cricket fans on Twitter trolled him and highlighted his embarrassing error.
