Pakistan has included spin all-rounders Imad Wasim and Mohammad Hafeez in their 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against New Zealand, which begins shortly following the ongoing T20I series.
Although Hafeez and Imad couldn't make it to Pakistan's preliminary squad that failed in the Asia Cup recently, they've been rewarded for some good showing against the same opposition in the shortest format of the game.
Meanwhile, premier fast bowler Mohammad Amir, who was dropped from the squad for the Tests and T20Is against Australia following his pooer Asia Cup performance, continues to be a noticeable exclusion.
Having made a return from knee injury and other fitness concerns, Imad earned Man-of-the-Match award for his performance in the first two T20Is versus Australia and has continued that run against the BlackCaps as well. Prior to the comeback, Imad turned up for Islamabad in the Quaid-e-Azam One-Day Cup and not only picked up wickets but scored crucial runs as well.
On the other hand, Hazeez has followed his magnificent return in the Test matches against Australia, where he scored a ton in the first game at Dubai, with scores of 39, 40, 32* and 45 in the four T20Is that Pakistan has played since last week.
Having lost 5-0 away against the same opposition earlier this year, the Sarfaraz Ahmed led side will definitely have a point to prove to everyone.
The first two ODIs take place in Abu Dhabi on November 7 and 9 respectively, before the final encounter at Dubai on November 11.
