Amidst all the controversy surrounding Bangladesh's epic celebrations, their performance in the Nidahas Trophy has hogged the limelight among the cricket followers and experts.

Bangladesh chased down a record 215 against Sri Lanka third game of the series, followed by yet another close game which saw a grandstand finish from Mahmudullah who deposited the fifth ball of their innings for a six to make their way to the semi-final.

In the final as well, they brought the game right down to the wire and made it increasingly difficult for India to win the game.   Dinesh Karthik however, pulled off a miracle to win the game for India.

Bangladesh who drew a lot of positives from the series, unfortunately, did not end up on the winning side when it mattered most. Mushfiqur Rahim who was key with the bat for them throughout the series said that Bangladesh are slowly but surely rising up the ranks in international T20 cricket. Bangladesh showed they are more than capable of playing an aggressive brand of cricket. While Shakib Al Hasan, the Test and T20I captain, hailed the side, Rahim acknowledged there's still some work left to be done.

"To be honest, we have not become that good a side in T20s till now. There are some things which we can improve upon and our team management and coaching staff are looking at those things." he pointed out on Monday (March 19). "At least there was this confidence that we were doing well in ODI and Test formats the last few years and on our day we can beat anyone. I think in T20s we are slowly gaining that confidence as well."

"We made it to the final and in that respect, it does feel good but it is natural that everyone will feel bad after the defeat. But we feel we will take the experience forward and make it count in the upcoming future" concluded the Bangladesh gloveman.
