New Zealand and India clashed in the second ODI of the five-match series in Wellington on November 7, 2026. The match was reduced to 47 overs per side due to rain, and India captain Shubman Gill won the toss and chose to bowl first under rainy and windy conditions.

Daryl Mitchell top-scored with 55 runs as Indian pacers ruled the roost in favorable conditions. Mitchell Santner’s 31 was the next best score as New Zealand was bundled out for 134 runs in 41 overs. Gurnoor Brar starred for India with 4/30, while Auqib Nabi, Anshul Kamboj, and Axar Patel all took two wickets each.

Ahead of the New Zealand innings, an amusing interaction between star Indian batter Virat Kohli and keeper KL Rahul was caught on camera, just as the Indian team assembled on the ground.

The sweater Rahul was wearing was too small. Then, an employee from India's changing room pulled out a pair of scissors and cut the region close to the neckline to make it fit better.

Meanwhile, Kohli was seen doing his bit, adjusting Rahul’s sleeve under his overshirt, which had rolled up and gotten stuck. Furthermore, he ensured that Rahul looked perfect by adjusting his neckline as well.  The amusing interaction was witnessed by teammates, including Axar Patel, who was interested in what was going on.
