India batsman KL Rahul has been in a purple patch for some time now and he is utilizing it very well in both the formats, T20I and ODI. After becoming the Man of the Series in 5-match T20I series against New Zealand, Rahul scored unbeaten 88 runs off 64 balls.

He played some glorious strokes in his fluent innings which made the commentator Sanjay Manjrekar praise him. "Only K L Rahul can make 360 degrees batting look orthodox and classical," wrote Manjrekar on Twitter.

India, despite a hundred of Shreyas Iyer and flamboyant innings of Rahul, couldn't win the match. They scored 347/4 in the first ODI after being asked to bat first.

In reply, New Zealand chased down the target with 11 balls in hand and 4 wickets left. Ross Taylor was their top scorer with 109* (84). Captain Tom Latham 69 (48) and opener Henry Nicholls 78 (82) also played a handy knock.
