Indian cricket team has been sloppy in the field lately. They have some quality fielders in the side, but the fielding standards overall have gone down. The careless efforts made on the field in the first ODI against New Zealand was covered up a bit by the India captain Virat Kohli.

Kohli put on an eye-grabbing effort on the field to dismiss Henry Nicholls on 78 runs. It happened in 29th over which was bowled by Jasprit Bumrah.

The Kiwi batsman Ross Taylor tried to take a single inside the circle, but it was turned into a bad decision by an alert Kohli. 

Fielding at the cover, Kohli collected the ball in hurry and threw the ball putting on a dive, very similar to Jonty Rhodes. His effort brought India back in the game by breaking the 62-run partnership for the third wicket between Nicholls and Taylor.
