The Indian cricket team is currently taking on New Zealand in the second ODI at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Sunday (November 27) with a hope of levelling the ongoing three-match ODI series following a massive defeat in the opening match at Eden Park.
However, the poor weather first delayed the toss, and then after about five overs, the match had to be stopped due to the rain in Hamilton. The players eventually came back on for a 29 overs per-side contest but rain returned with India at 89/1 in 12.5 overs.
Well, Team India made two changes for the second ODI, as they dropped Sanju Samson and Shardul Thakur for Deepak Hooda and Deepak Chahar on Sunday.
The duo had an average outing in the first ODI against the Black Caps, but fans were particularly angry with the stand-in captain Shikhar Dhawan and coach VVS Laxman’s decision to drop Samson, as he has so far played only one match on the New Zealand tour.
After the BCCI announced the playing XI for the second ODI against New Zealand, the fans again started slamming the Indian cricket board, Dhawan, and Laxman for doing injustice to Samson on social media.
Notably, Sanju has been trending repeatedly on social media since the T20 World Cup 2022, and now another harsh decision has led fans to call out the BCCI and the team management.
Team India’s move for greater bowling depth left fans fuming at the BCCI, Dhawan, and Laxman, as they lashed out at them for running "favoritism" in Indian cricket and spoiling the talented cricketer’s career while doing injustice to the Kerala star.
