Shreyas Iyer has yet again disappointed the Indian cricket team supporters with his another poor outing with the bat against New Zealand, and fans are not calm on social media as they slammed the batter for not overcoming his technical issues.

Iyer was retained in India’s playing XI for the third and final T20I against New Zealand, but things didn’t change as the right-hander was dismissed for a golden duck by Tim Southee at McLean Park in Napier on Tuesday (November 22).

Notably, Iyer was dismissed hit wicket as he stepped back too far while trying to play for a single towards deep square leg in the second T20I against the Black Caps. However, Team India won that second match by 65 runs, and with this win, the tourists managed to clinch the T20I series with a 1-0 margin after the third and final match ended in a tie via the DLS method.

Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer’s weakness against the short ball came to the fore once again as Tim Southee bowled a well-directed short ball around the off stump line.

The delivery left the Indian batter totally clueless, as the not-so-good connection between the bat and ball sent the ball to James Neesham’s hands, who was stationed at first slip, ensuring Iyer’s return to the dugout with zero.

Well, Iyer’s form is a big cause of concern for India in T20I cricket, as he was given the opportunity ahead of the talented lads Sanju Samson and Shubman Gill, but he left everybody disappointed, and now he has been targeted by the fans on Twitter for wasting the opportunities in the format.
