Suryakumar Yadav hit his second T20I ton in 2022 | GettyIndia batter Suryakumar Yadav enthralled the fans at Bay Oval in the recent second T20I against New Zealand on Sunday, scoring his second T20I century and helping the Men in Blue win the match and go 1-0 up in the series with one match left.

Suryakumar Yadav continued his golden form in 2022 hitting 111* in 51 balls with 11 fours and 7 sixes to his name with his last 18 balls bringing him more than 60 runs as India posted 191/6 in 20 overs after being asked to bat first by Kane Williamson.

In reply, apart from Williamson’s 61, none of the Kiwi batters could do much and New Zealand folded for 126 runs and lost the match by 65 runs.

Kohli took to Twitter and said he was not able to watch the innings live on TV but that he was sure it would've felt like another "video game knock", referring to the ease with which Suryakumar toys with bowlers.

Responding to this statement by Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, while speaking on Chahal TV, said that there is no cheat code to his batting and that the clarity of thought when batting in the T20I format has helped him find success.

"It feels very good when everybody messages me and tweets about me. I have learned a lot from Sachin Tendulkar when we played franchise cricket. I have been enjoying my time with Virat Kohli recently. But, I want to say that there is no cheat code. I do what I have practiced in the nets. I don’t want to change anything. I want to play this format with the right intent, it’s very important,” Suryakumar said on Chahal TV.

Shedding light on his thought process in T20I cricket, Suryakumar said: "I want to play with the right intent, I don’t want to think much in the middle. Thinking will happen in the room and the practice sessions. You can’t come here and think. You can’t take pressure, you have to try and enjoy. The percentage of fear of failure should be less and I don’t carry any baggage."

Suryakumar will be in action when the two teams meet in the final T20I in Napier on Tuesday.
