India will begin their white-ball tour of New Zealand with a three-match T20I series starting from November 18 onwards. The Men in Blue will play three T20Is and three ODIs which is seen as the roadmap for them for the next T20 World Cup in 2024.
India and New Zealand both are seeking new beginnings to their T20I campaign after losing their respective T20 World Cup 2022 semi-finals. India lost to England by 10 wickets, while Pakistan bettered New Zealand by 7 wickets.
Hurt and humiliated, both the teams will look to try out new ways and experiment with new players, especially India, who have made Hardik Pandya the captain for T20Is as Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli have been rested for this tour.
Hardik previously captained India in Ireland and won both the T20I matches and has been retained as the captain of IPL 2022 champions Gujarat Titans as well. His confident nature and surety of plans may help India in the long run as well.
The Indian team will feature new faces such as Umran Malik, Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, and others in the 20-over format as they look to reset their T20I fortunes.
The BCCI shared videos and photos from the captains' meet featuring Hardik Pandya and Kane Williamson in Wellington as the two entered the venue on a crocodile bike and unveiled the trophy the two teams will be playing for in T20Is.
