Indian cricketer Rinku Singh, who recently featured in the final of the Asia Cup 2025 for the Indian team, has received a threat of extortion for INR 5 crores.
In a series of messages dating back to February 2025, an individual named Naveed raised his demand from a request for financial assistance to a direct threat tied to organized crime.
In his initial text to Rinku, Naveed identified himself as a fan, beginning with a courteous request for money. A few days later, he messaged the cricketer again, shifting the tone from a plea to a definite demand.
Receiving no response, Naveed sent an ultimatum to Rinku on April 20, concluding with a serious extortion threat linked to a criminal organisation.
Here is the timeline of Naveed's messages to Rinku Singh, as revealed by an NDTV source:
"Hope you are well. I am your biggest fan, and I am very happy that you are playing for the KKR team. Rinku sir, I hope you continue your tireless efforts.
