India all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who missed the Asia Cup 2025 final against Pakistan in Dubai on September 28, is likely to remain out of action for an extended period.

According to a report published in Dainik Jagran, Hardik has been advised rest for four weeks after he sustained an injury in the Asia Cup Super 4 clash against Sri Lanka last Friday (September 26).

As a result, the 31-year-old is all but out of the upcoming white-ball tour to Australia, where the side will play three ODIs and five T20Is.

This injury ruled Hardik out of the Asia Cup title clash, prompting India to tweak their playing combination and go with an extra batter in Rinku Singh.

The report further claims that Hardik has a left quadriceps injury and it's unlikely that he will be available for the entire tour Down Under, starting October 19.

Even if Hardik Pandya recovers earlier than expected, he would still be missing the 50-over series against Australia. The five-match T20I series is slated to get underway on October 29 at the Manuka Oval in Hobart, and it remains to be seen if Hardik regains fitness in time for this contest.

The BCCI Medical Team is expected to issue a report to the team management, and it will then be clear regarding Hardik's future course of action.

Hardik Pandya bowled just one over in the Super 4 fixture against Sri Lanka before walking off the field as he experienced pain. He did not return for the remainder of the contest.

The seam-bowling all-rounder shared the new ball with Jasprit Bumrah during the continental showpiece. Hardik returned with four wickets from six matches he played in the eight-team tournament and scored 48 runs with the bat.

Speaking of the Asia Cup 2025 final, India defeated Pakistan by five wickets to clinch the continental crown for the record-extending ninth time.

Despite being reduced to 20/3 in the chase of 147, the Men in Blue emerged victorious. The likes of Tilak Varma and Sanju Samson rose to the occasion after India’s top three fell cheaply. The middle-order pair added 57 runs for the fifth wicket steady the ship.

While Samson was dismissed for 24, Tilak (69* off 53) stayed till the end to take his side home with two deliveries to spare. Shivam Dube (33 off 22) also returned with a stunning cameo to put India on the brink of victory, and Rinku Singh (4*) hit the winning boundary.
