The father of renowned all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, former Indian cricketer Yograj Singh, has said that the majority of his son's colleagues, including MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, were "backstabbers." *

In an interview with InsideSport, Yograj asserted that Yuvraj's sole friend was legendary Sachin Tendulkar.

When questioned if Yuvraj could have benefited from Kohli's leadership in the later years of his career, Yograj attacked the former India captain, claiming that everyone was afraid his kid would replace them.

"As I told you, there are no friends in the sphere of success, money, and glory. There were always backstabbers, people who wanted to put you down. People were scared of Yuvraj Singh because they were afraid, he would usurp their seats because he was such a great player created by the God Almighty. He has been the greatest of players, who they were scared of—right from MS Dhoni, everybody—"Oh, he might take my chair," said Yograj to InsideSport.

Yograj Singh has previously also alleged serious accusations against Yuvraj Singh’s India teammates. He believes that Yuvraj Singh was forced into early retirement.

Yuvraj Singh played 40 Tests, 304 ODIs, and 58 T20Is for India from 2000 to 2017. He made 1900, 8701, and 1177 runs with a total of 17 centuries. He also took 148 wickets across formats.

He was part of the Indian team that won the ICC Champions Trophy 2002 (joint winners with Sri Lanka), the ICC T20 World Cup 2007, and the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. He was the Player of the Tournament of the 2011 World Cup and hit six sixes in six consecutive balls in the 2007 T20 World Cup and then hit the fastest T20 fifty in just 12 balls.
