Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar has officially confirmed the engagement of his son, Arjun Tendulkar, to Saaniya Chandhok, given the fact that both families had stayed mum on the same.
The revelation came during an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on Reddit, where Tendulkar was interacting with fans.
When asked directly whether his son was engaged, the batting legend replied, “Yes he did and we are all very excited for the new phase in his life.”
Reports of the engagement emerged earlier this month, but until Tendulkar’s confirmation, neither family had made a public statement.
Arjun and Saaniya exchanged rings on August 13. The engagement was a private affair, attended by close friends and family from both sides.
Arjun Tenulkar, a left-arm fast-bowling all-rounder, plays for Goa in domestic cricket and has also represented Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. He began his domestic career with Mumbai in the 2020/21 season, before shifting his base to Goa in the 2022/23 season.
So far, Arjun has featured in 17 first-class matches, scoring 532 runs—including one century and two fifties—and taking 37 wickets. In List A cricket for Goa, he played 17 games, amassing 76 in nine innings.India national cricket team merchandise
