India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is facing legal action from his former player agency. The case has been filed over alleged unpaid dues of Rs 5 crore from the rising star.
According to India Today, sources have confirmed that the relationship between Nitish and his former agency, Square The One, deteriorated during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
Subsequently, the 22-year-old signed an agreement with the manager of another Indian player involved in the tour.
Square The One Private Limited has lodged a petition under Section 11(6) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, accusing Nitish of management agreement breach and non-payment of dues. The case is expected to be heard in the Delhi High Court on July 28.
The petition seeks the appointment of an independent arbitrator who can decide on the breach of contract and outstanding payment.
The agency says that they have been representing Nitish since 2021 and have facilitated multiple brand deals and commercial partnerships for him.
“Ninety percent of such disputes do not reach court and are resolved privately. But in this case, Nitish refused to pay any money and claimed he had secured the deals himself,” a source told India Today on condition of anonymity.
Things have gone downhill for Nitish Kumar Reddy since his impressive Test debut in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The all-rounder endured a dismal IPL 2025 campaign with Sunrisers Hyderabad.
In the ongoing India tour of England, Nitish featured in the Birmingham and Lord’s Tests before he suffered a serious knee injury and was ruled out for the rest of the season.
