India U19 opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who took the cricketing world by storm with his jaw-dropping exploits in the IPL 2025, rewrite the record books in the Youth ODI format on Saturday (July 5).

During the fourth U19 ODI against England in Worcester, the 14-year-old prodigy slammed a stunning 52-ball century — the fastest ever in Youth ODIs — surpassing the previous record of 53 balls set by Pakistan’s Kamran Ghulam.

Widely deemed as a generational talent, Suryavanshi’s latest feat only adds to the growing list of records he’s been collecting. Earlier this year, the teenager became the youngest player to score a T20 century and the fastest (in terms of balls) Indian to reach a hundred in the IPL

Playing for Rajasthan Royals, the southpaw took the Gujarat Titans bowling attack to the cleaners as he hammered a 35-ball ton, immediately grabbing headlines and catching the attention of fans and legends alike.

On Friday, Suryavanshi opened the innings alongside skipper Ayush Mhatre after England elected to bowl first. India faced early trouble with Mhatre being dismissed for just 5.

However, Suryavanshi held the one end firmly and went on to score a remarkable 143 off 78 deliveries. His knock was studded with 13 boundaries and 10 sixes, powering India from early trouble to 234/2 by the time he was dismissed.

This is not the first time Suryavanshi has hogged the limelight. Just last year, the swashbuckling left-hander struck the second-fastest century in Men’s Youth Tests — a dazzling 56-ball hundred against Australia U19 in Chennai.

At just 14 years of age, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become a household name by shattering records across Youth ODIs, Youth Tests, and the IPL. With a blend of explosive strokeplay and natural flair, India’s teenage batting sensation is already showing signs of a very special future.
