Former Australia opener David Warner slammed Air India following the tragic Ahmedabad plane crash, vowing to never board the Indian carrier again.

In a horrifying accident, a London-bound Air India aircraft crashed shortly after taking off from the Ahmedabad airport on Thursday (June 12).

The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner had 242 people on board - 230 passengers, 10 crew members and two pilots. Only one man was able to survive the dreadful crash.

Air India's AI 171 London-bound flight crashed just a few seconds after taking off from Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.

Videos of the accident show the plane struggling to gain altitude before it begins losing lift (upward force that allows an aircraft to stay airborne) and crashes, resulting in a thick willow of smoke emanating from the area.

The aircraft crashed into residential quarters of BJ Medical College doctors in Ahmedabad's Meghaninagar, where several causalities were also reported.

A day after the heartbreaking crash, Warner took to Instagram to express his frustration and concern.

Sharing a screenshot of a comment on a YouTube video that questioned Air India’s safety protocols, the southpaw wrote: “If this is true, it’s absolutely shocking. Thoughts go out to all the families. I would never fly Air India ever again after this and my last interaction with them.”

David Warner's post quickly went viral across social media platforms, considering his massive fan base in India and longstanding connection to the country through the IPL. His public criticism not only added global visibility to the crash but also sparked a broader conversation about Air India’s safety track record and customer experience.
