South Africa has announced its squad for the ICC World Test Championship (WTC 2025) final on May 13, 2025. South Africa will face Australia in the summit clash at the Lord’s from June 11 onwards. South Africa qualified for the Ultimate Test after finishing first in the WTC Standings with a point percentage of 69.44.

Temba Bavuma will lead a 15-man strong South African side in the final against Australia, and the squad has been bolstered with the return of pacer Lungi Ngidi. Ngidi had missed the South African summer due to a groin injury, but will shoulder the pace attack with Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen.

The middle order will be held by young stars Tristan Stubbs, David Bedingham, and Bavuma, while the top order batting options are Tony de Zorzi, Ryan Rickelton, and Aiden Markram. All-rounders Marco Jansen, and Wiaan Mulder can also help with the bat, and Kyle Verreynne will be a formidable presence later in the order and behind the wickets.

To complete the fast-bowling lineup, Mulder and Jansen will be joined by Corbin Bosch, Dane Paterson, Ngidi, and star pacer Kagiso Rabada. Senuran Muthusamy and tweaker Keshav Maharaj will represent the spin resources.

Firstly, I want to congratulate each of the players selected for this squad. It is a special moment for this group to contest the WTC Final. Over the past 18 months, we’ve worked hard to build a competitive red-ball unit, and this achievement reflects that progress.

A key part of our success has been consistency in selection, and we’ve stuck with the core group of players who have been part of this WTC cycle. We’ve selected a balanced squad for the conditions we expect at Lord’s. I’m particularly pleased to welcome Lungi back on the side. He’s put in the work and offers us an experienced option with the ball, head coach Shukri Conrad told ICC.

Australia has already announced its squad for the summit clash, which sees the return of all-rounder Cam Green to the fold.
