Indian cricketer Amit Mishra denied all reports claiming that his wife has filed a domestic violence and dowry harassment case against him and his family.
This comes after several media houses reported that Mishra's wife has wanted INR 1 crore in compensation and claims that Mishra's family requested INR 10 lakh and a car as dowry during their wedding.
Mishra resorted to social media on Tuesday to respond to the reports about himself and his wife. The 42-year-old expressed amazement and disappointment at seeing his name and photo used in stories unrelated to him or his family.
He has cautioned media outlets not to use his image in such reports, or he may consider taking legal action.
“I’m extremely disappointed by what’s being circulated in the media. I’ve always respected the press, but while the news itself may be accurate, the photograph used is mine—which is completely incorrect. Using my image for unrelated stories must stop immediately, or I will be forced to take legal action,” Mishra posted on X, tagging the concerned media houses.
Mishra has played 22 Tests, 36 ODIs, and ten Twenty20 Internationals for India. His last match for India was a Twenty20 International against England in 2017. He was a member of the Indian side that won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013 and advanced to the final of the ICC T20 World Cup in 2014. He is now commentating on the IPL 2025.
Mishra was an active player in the Indian Premier League (IPL) until last year. Throughout his long career, he has represented four IPL franchises: Delhi Capitals (previously Delhi Daredevils), Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Lucknow Super Giants. He holds the record for the most hat-tricks by an IPL player, at three.
