The Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, new Chandigarh, will host the 2025 Women's ODI World Cup final, which will take place later this year.
The competition is likely to take place between September 29 and October 26. The eight-team event, hosted by India, will be played in five venues: Guwahati, Vishakhapatnam, Thiruvananthapuram, and Indore, as well as Mullanpur, a village on the outskirts of Chandigarh.
While it has staged a few IPL matches, Mullanpur, a 38,000-capacity stadium, is yet to stage an international game.
Aside from Visakhapatnam, none of the other locations have held a women's international yet. Indore had held two Women's World Cup games at the Nehru Stadium, which has not hosted international cricket since the Holkar Stadium was erected in the late 2000s.
The last women's international match was held at Vishakhapatnam's ACA-VDCA Stadium in 2014. Overall, the venue has held six women's T20Is and five women's ODIs.
India will host the Women's World Cup for the first time since 2013, when they were eliminated in the group stage. They also hosted the Women's T20 World Cup in 2016. The 2025 edition will follow the same format as the 2022 one, with eight teams playing a total of 31 matches.
Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka have already qualified for the competition, in addition to hosts India. The final two berths will be decided by the Women's World Cup Qualifiers, which will take place in Lahore beginning April 9.
If Pakistan qualifies, they will play their matches in either the UAE or Sri Lanka as part of a reciprocal agreement between the BCCI and PCB before the men's Champions Trophy in 2025.
While the India tournament locations have been confirmed, the official schedule for the event will be released only after the ICC World Cup Qualifiers.
