Indian batting stalwart Virat Kohli on Saturday (March 15) made a candid revelation over his cricketing future, admitting that he "might not have another Australia tour in him."
Speaking at the RCB Innovation Lab after arriving in Bengaluru ahead of the IPL 2025 season, Kohli said, "I might not have another Australia tour in me, so I am at peace with whatever happened in the past."
This statement triggering speculation among fans about whether the star batter is considering retirement from Test cricket in the near future.
Kohli also opened up on his post-retirement plans, expressing uncertainty about what lies ahead. "I actually don't know what I will be doing post retirement," he remarked.
"Recently, I asked a teammate the same question and got the same reply. Yeah, but maybe a lot of traveling."
The 36-year-old also reflected on India’s triumphant Champions Trophy 2025 campaign in Dubai, emphasizing how the team’s adaptability to conditions proved decisive.
"We as a team adapted to the conditions better than others, hence won the Champions Trophy," Kohli stated.
He also expressed optimism about the future of women’s cricket in India, especially the Women’s Premier League (WPL). "WPL is going to grow, and you cannot cater only to men's sport if you want to grow as a sporting nation," he said, highlighting the importance of balanced development.
Kohli also expressed his excitement about cricket’s inclusion in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. "Cricket being part of the Olympics (2028) is a great chance for us. Coming back with a medal will be a great thing for the team," he said.
Earlier, in a video shared by RCB on social media, Kohli was seen posing in the iconic RCB jersey with a caption reading, "The King is here and like always, he’s 2 steps (sometimes a LOT more) ahead of everyone."
Royals Challengers Bengaluru will open their IPL 2025 campaign in the tournament on March 22 against the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens.
