Former India cricketer Yograj Singh, father of legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, has revealed why Arjun Tendulkar, Sachin Tendulkar’s son stopped training under him.

Arjun briefly trained under the watchful eyes of Yograj Singh for a brief time. Yograj Singh runs a cricket academy in Chandigarh and Tendulkar trained with him for 12 days.

Yograj asserts, however, that Arjun got a century in the Ranji Trophy during this time and after landing an IPL contract, stopped training under him.

People didn't want the all-rounder's name to be linked to him, according to Yograj, who recently explained why Arjun stopped practicing under him.

“Sachin's son. He comes here for 12 days and scores a hundred. When he scored a hundred on debut and then came back to IPL, people feared that his (Arjun) name would get stuck with him (Yograj). Are you understanding my point?” Yograj said on 'Unfiltered by Samdish'.

“People are very afraid of name-sticking. I told Yuvi (Yuvraj) to call Sachin and ask him to give me Arjun for a year. See what happens after that,” added the 66-year-old.

Arjun has participated in 17 First-Class games, scoring 532 runs and taking 37 wickets. In two IPL seasons, Arjun has also participated in five games for the Mumbai Indians. MI purchased Arjun back at the IPL 2025 mega auction for Rs 30 lakh.
