During the recently held IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah, Bihar’s Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the talk of the town as the 13-year-old bagged a deal with the Rajasthan Royals for INR 1.10 Crore.
Hence, all eyes were on Vaibhav during India’s U19 Asia Cup match against Pakistan in Dubai on Saturday (November 30) but the youngster failed to make a mark.
Opting to bat, Pakistan racked up 281/7 on the board. The opening pair of Usman Khan and Shahzaib Khan delivered a blazing start with a 160-run partnership, with the latter slamming a brilliant century.
In reply, India’s innings folded for 238 in 47.1 overs, losing the match by 43 runs. Suryavanshi managed to score only 1 run during the chase.
Born on March 27, 2011, Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his first-class debut for Bihar in January 2024 at just 12 years and 284 days old. Last month, he hogged the headlines by smashing a scintillating 58-ball century in India U19's match against Australia at Chepauk.
In his brief first-class career so far, Vaibhav has played five matches, amassing 100 runs with a highest score of 41. He is also taking part in the ongoing Ranji Trophy.
Vaibhav represented Bihar in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as well, making his T20 debut against Rajasthan on November 23.
