Former cricketer Ajay Jadeja declared heir to Jamnagar royal throne

Jadeja will be the heir to throne of Nawanagar in Jamnagar, Gujrat.

Ajay Jadeja, former India cricketer and captain, has been declared as the future Jam Saheb of Nawanagar, commonly known as Jamnagar, a former princely state in Gujarat. Maharaja Jam Saheb of Nawanagar acknowledged the announcement in a statement.

In a letter to news agency ANI, Shatrusalyasinhji Digvijaysinhji Jadeja revealed that Ajay has consented to be his heir. Shatrusalyasinhji is Ajay's father's cousin sibling and the Jam Saheb of Nawanagar.

“Dussehra is the day on which the Pandavas felt victorious upon successfully completing their 14 years of incognito existence. Today, I too feel victorious as Ajay Jadeja graciously accepts to be my successor and the next Jam Saheb of Nawanagar, which I truly believe is a great boon for the people of Jamnagar,” said Shatrusalyasinhji in a letter.

Ajay Jadeja, who was born into the former Nawanagar royal family, has an extensive cricketing background. His relatives, K Ranjitsinhji and KS Duleepsinhji, are recognized with the prestigious Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy, respectively.

Daulatsinhji Jadeja, Ajay Jadeja's father, was a three-term Member of Parliament from Jamnagar Lok Sabha. His mother is from Alappuzha, Kerala. Ajay is married to Aditi Jaitly, Jaya's daughter, and they have two daughters, Aiman and Ameera.

Ajay Jadeja's cricket career lasted from 1992 to 2000, and he represented India in 15 Tests and 196 One Day Internationals. He was recognized for his fielding abilities
