Bangladesh’s legendary cricketer Shakib Al Hasan’s wife Umme Ahmed Shishir rebuked rumors of her husband cheating on her. She stated that Shakib is still the same person she had met 13 years ago.
Shakib's career has been riddled with controversy, both on and off the cricket field. Shishir was recently accused of cheating on his wife, a charge he firmly refuted.
Shishir responded to the accusations in a lengthy Facebook post, stating that the cricketer fulfills all of his responsibilities as a husband and father. She also begged citizens not to spread stories that gained popularity after she put their social media photographs 'private'.
"You might have your views on his career and choices I won’t deny that, everyone has the freedom to speak! Criticize him all you want! But please do not mix it with our relationship he is a great husband and a father, he has always been Honest and loyal to me and would never do anything to hurt me, he’s a person who got himself suspended once for standing up for me.
I am always aware of his outings and I am most of the time with him. He’s still the same person I met 13 years ago as a life partner he’s 100/100 and we have a beautiful family Alhamdulillah! Please stop these online rumors don’t always believe what’s on social media it’s all about cut and paste pictures don’t speak the whole story," Umme stated on Facebook.
“To the group of people who are doing this, let me tell you one thing you won’t gain anything out of it! I don’t like to talk about my personal life, I wanted to stay quiet because the truth is within me but due to unnecessary calls and texts I wanted to make it clear! He has the Pakistan series to focus on now and I focus on our family we’ve always been a team and will remain as a team In Sha Allah!
Ps- I did not delete any of my posts or pictures, I just made them private also pictures posts doesn’t justify any relationship! Thank you," Shishir concluded.
Shakib Al Hasan and Umme Ahmed Shishir first met in 2010 while the former was playing county cricket in England. The pair married a few years later and welcomed their first kid in 2015, named Alayna. They have two more children: a daughter Eyzah and a son Errum. The family lives in the USA as Shakib Al Hasan became a green card holder in 2018.
