Earlier this year, Ishan Kishan hogged the headlines for not being included in the BCCI central contracts list for the 2023-24 season. He lost the annual contracts after failing to adhere to the board's mandate of playing domestic cricket when not on national duty.

Notably, the wicketkeeper-batter had withdrawn from the Test series in South Africa last December, citing personal reasons. Since then, he has not been picked in any of the Indian squads.

Meanwhile, a recent report published in Cricbuzz claims that Ishan Kishan is all set to make a comeback for Jharkhand in domestic cricket.

According to the report, the southpaw has been included in the 25 pre-season probables announced by Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) and that he took the decision after consulting "some well-wishers and national selectors".

Since Kishan has made himself available for Jharkhand's upcoming domestic season, he might also be handed the captaincy of the state team.

After being left out of the annual contract list, Ishan Kishan made his return to competitive cricket while playing in the 18th DY Patil T20 Cup 2024. Subsequently, he featured in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.

Playing for Mumbai Indians (MI), the southpaw amassed 320 runs in 14 matches at an average of 22.86 and a strike rate of 148.84.

Ishan Kishan has played 32 T20Is for India so far, scoring 796 runs at an average of 25.7 and a strike rate of 124.4. In the ODI format, he has played 27 matches and aggregated 933 runs at an average of 42.4 at a strike rate of 102.2, including one hundred and seven fifties.

The left-hander has also made two Test appearances so far, scoring 78 runs at a strike rate of 85.7 with one half-century.
