Not the one to hold back his words, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh on Friday (July 19) lambasted a Pakistan journalist for comparing wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan with the legendary MS Dhoni.

Notably, a journalist shared a photograph of Dhoni and Rizwan on social media platform X and posed a question to his followers - who’s better between the two?

The post created quite a stir and it also caught the attention of Harbhajan, who took the journalist to task for comparing the Indian great with the Pakistan cricketer.

Harbhajan went on to say that even Rizwan will avoid such comparison as Dhoni is still number one in world cricket.

“What r u smoking nowadays ???? What a silly question to ask . Bhaiyo isko batao . DHONI bhut aage hai RIZWAN se Even if u will ask Rizwan he will give u an honest answer for this . I like Rizwan he is good player who always play with intent.. but this comparison is wrong. DHONI no 1 even today in world cricket . None better thn him behind stumps,” wrote Harbhajan in reply.

MS Dhoni has left a massive impact on the game with his leadership. He is the only skipper in the history of cricket to have won all three ICC white-ball trophies – 2007 World T20, 2011 Cricket World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy. He also led Team India to the No. 1 rankings in Test cricket.

Apart from his illustrious trophy cabinet, Dhoni has over 17,000 runs in international cricket with 16 centuries. He also has a record 195 stumpings to his name in international cricket in addition to 634 catches.

On the other hand, Mohammad Rizwan has over 5,000 runs across formats. Although Rizwan is one of Pakistan’s most prolific run scorers, he is yet to win a major tournament for his country.
