India’s Hardik Pandya has become the new no.1 all-rounder in the latest update of the ICC T20I rankings. Pandya achieved this feat thanks to his heroics in the recent T20 World Cup 2024.
Hardik Pandya played a huge role in India’s win in the final of the tournament against South Africa. With South Africa needing 30 runs in 30 balls, Hardik picked up crucial wickets of Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller in the death to seal the deal for India.
He defended 16 runs in the final over against David Miller and co. and gave India the win by 7 runs as they became the T20 World Cup 2024 champions.
Hardik Pandya made impactful cameos down the order with the bat and made breakthroughs with the ball when the team needed him to. He finished with 144 runs at a batting strike rate of over 150 and also took 11 wickets.
Meanwhile, Marcus Stoinis, Sikandar Raza, Shakib Al Hasan, and Liam Livingstone also rose up one spot in the T20I rankings, while Mohammad Nabi moved back by four spots to go out of the top five.
Anrich Nortje achieved his career-best second spot in the T20I bowling rankings, just behind top-ranked Adil Rashid with 675 rating points.
India's star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who won the Player of the Tournament award at the T20 World Cup for his 15 wickets, has moved to 12th spot, his highest position since the end of 2020.
Kuldeep Yadav moved to the 8th spot, while Arshdeep Singh moved to a career-best No.13 after topping the wickets chart at the T20 World Cup.
