There is a lot of anticipation surrounding India’s five-match Test tour of Australia, scheduled for later this year.
While Cricket Australia (CA) is yet to unveil the fixtures officially, reports claim that Perth has been selected as the venue for the opening Test.
According to a report published in Sydney Morning Herald, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney have also been chosen as venues for this much-awaited series.
"Adelaide will host the second Test and Brisbane the third, with the Boxing Day and New Year's Tests keeping their traditional time slots in Melbourne and Sydney," the report said.
The Adelaide Test will reportedly be a day-night fixture and CA is expected to release the schedule by the end of this month.
The series is likely to get underway in late November this year. It will be the first time India will play five Tests on Australian soil since the 1991-92 tour.
India have won their last two Test series Down Under in 2018-19 and 2020-21. Perth had staged the second Test of the 2018-19 series, which the hosts won by 146 runs.
Ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21, it was reported that Western Australia Cricket Association (WACA) was not happy with CA’s decision to not allot a single Test to Perth.
