R Ashwin reacts to Sivaramakrishnan’s allegations of ignoring his calls and messages in a hilarious way

Ashwin's savage post went viral on social media.

R Ashwin | GettyEarlier this month, former India cricketer Laxman Sivaramakrishnan had levelled allegations on Ravichandran Ashwin, accusing the veteran spinner of ignoring him ahead of his landmark 100th Test for the country.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Sivaramakrishnan claimed that Ashwin disconnected his calls and ignored his text messages as he tried extending his wishes to the off-spinner on the momentous occasion.

The story trended on social media as Ashwin was accused of disrespecting the former cricketer. On Tuesday (March 19), Ashwin finally reacted to those allegations in a hilarious way.

While responding to a parody account on X, Ashwin shared a picture of Sivaramakrishnan with a caption: “Call me please”.

Notably, Laxman Sivaramakrishnan hogged the limelight last year for his social media rant against Ravichandran Ashwin.

Sivaramakrishnan questioned Ashwin’s credentials as a spin bowler in SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia) countries. He also claimed that the pitches in India are doctored for Ashwin to succeed in Test matches.

During the recently held Test series against England, Ashwin became the ninth bowler overall and only the second Indian after the legendary Anil Kumble to claim 500 wickets in the longest format. The off-spinner finished the series with 26 scalps as India clinched the five-match series 4-1.

The final Test in Dharamsala marked Ashwin’s 100th appearance in the traditional format. He became only the 14th Indian cricketer to achieve this feat.
